Music / not Music

The Cangue League Orchestra will perform at interludes of transition acting as a human curtain of noise!  We will take our cues from the avant-garde movements in the past creating our own sounds.  Check out the Italian Futurist Luigi Russolo's little ditty - Macchina Tipografica.

Randomness + Math + Emotion = Aural Sensuality

Music, like the Avante-Garde performances in other mediums, strives to communicate in a unique way that is distant from the typical language of the time.  There is fun, sadness, boredom and love in there somewhere.  Can you hear it?

In The Forward

The Get Go
We are looking to make some theater in a new way while standing on the shoulders of the giants of avant-garde's yore.  Cangue League artists are writers and thinkers that act, play music and swing a hammer, literally and philosophically.  Our desires are to gather a diverse gang with the goal of presenting ideas in non-traditional styles.  Join our league.  Together we can fight truth, lies and the "I'm air in can" way.

Here are some things to get your juices flowing:

"I was involved in a production of Antonin Artaud's 'Jet of Blood' when I worked at The Performance Network in Ann Arbor MI.  It was one of the most exhilarating experiences in my life.  I was charged with raising and lowering the various scorpions and beetles 'nauseatingly slow', as A. A. put it.  I hope to bring that spirit to Cangue League." - Jean-Paul Corvino [cangue league, founder]
